This park is built on the ruins of Toyama Castle. The castle was originally constructed in 1543 and occupied by the Toyama domain of the Maeda clan. The main hall was rebuilt in 1885, making it one of the largest temple complexes in the Hokuriku area. The complex features many pieces that exemplify the master craftsmanship involved in the Japanese cultural heritage of Inami-style wood carving.
